GENESEE COUNTY HISPANIC LATINO COLLABORATIVE
Statement from our President & CEO
regarding MLive Article
Statement from San Juana Olivares, President and CEO of Genesee County Hispanic Latino Collaborative regarding statements in an MLive article today saying that found bottled water was related to the distribution efforts of the Collaborative. These statements were false, and we thank MLive for making corrections.
While Genesee County Hispanic Latino Collaborative did at one time utilize St. Agnes Catholic Church for water donations, all bottled water cases were removed soon after they were received with the help of residents. The bottled water was taken to Woodside church, where the Genesee County Hispanic Latino Collaborative distributed water to the Hispanic/Latino community. With the generous donations from our great partners from the Grand Rapids Latino community, our Hispanic/Latino community had access to bottled water during the time identification was being asked at water stations. We are thankful for the donation and their partnership.
